Care for your mental health

If you feel stressed, overwhelmed or like your life is out of control, help is available. Our mental health care team offers a variety of behavioral health services. Psychiatry is one option for support.

Psychiatric services

Psychiatrists provide psychotherapy and evaluations (medical and psychiatric), treat disorders and prescribe medications. They’ve studied how physical health, genetics and family history affect mental health.

Our experienced psychiatry team diagnoses and treats:

  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Personality disorders
  • Schizophrenia
  • Substance use and addiction

We also have pediatric specialists who provide mental health support for children and teens.

What is a psychiatrist?

Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in mental health. They are trained to diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders. Sometimes psychiatrists treat individuals. Other times, whole families. They typically undergo four years of specialized psychiatric study after medical school.

Difference between psychiatry and psychology

Psychiatrists and psychologists are not the same. Though they offer similar treatment options, psychiatrists have medical training. This means they can prescribe medications and run medical tests. Psychologists cannot.
